Have some hands on trying with mannequins in class too! Afterwards take home a tip sheet to review and have on hand if it happens in your family. \n\n\n\n** \n\n\n\nHi everyone I’m Jessica! \n\n\n\nI worked for about 8 years as a paramedic in BC and prior to that I was part of an Auxiliary Fire Rescue team and in that time I noticed a lot of people didn’t know how to react in the case of an emergency\, they wanted to help but just weren’t sure how! I wanted to educate people and help them gain confidence in emergency situations so I become a first aid and cpr instructor. I am also a mom to a 3 year old boy and in my time as a mom I’ve learned that parents really need to be well educated and prepared for emergency situations at home- so I also teach focused workshops geared towards parents!  \n\n\n\nJoin me where I will do a demonstration on choking – I will be showing you how to tell if someone is choking and the necessary steps you need to take to help someone who is choking. DESCRIPTION:Join residents of Saint Luke’s Place for a monthly music group led by a registered musictherapist. \n\n\n\n*** \n\n\n\nThis 45 minute intergenerational music therapy class brings together seniors and moms with their babies in a supportive\, joyful environment where music becomes a bridge for connection\, expression\, and wellbeing. Led by a qualified music therapist\, who plays her guitar\, sessions use singing\, movement\, rhythm instruments\, and gentle interaction to support emotional\, cognitive\, and social health across generations. \n\n\n\nFor seniors\, the program encourages memory stimulation\, emotional expression\, mobility\, and social engagement through familiar songs and meaningful musical experiences. For moms and babies\, the class supports bonding\, early communication\, and sensory development. \n\n\n\nBabies and toddlers are welcomed just as they are—moving\, vocalizing\, or resting—while seniors are invited to participate through singing\, clapping\, movement\, or listening. The shared musical experience fosters connection\, reduces isolation\, and creates moments of joy\, presence\, and mutual understanding between generations.  \n\n\n\nOur music program includes singing familiar nursery rhymes along with welcoming hello  and good-bye songs.  \n\n\n\nWhat you get: music instruments for babies/toddlers\, and scarves. Playmat provided for babies and toddlers to sit and play on in the center of the room.
